Brussels : vacancy – Public relations manager with a focus on social media

EDYN is an ecumenical network of Christian voluntary service programmes that send and receive volunteers worldwide. The programmes provide opportunities for long term (and occasionally shortterm) voluntary service in social, environmental and educational institutions and church congregations.

Key purpose of the post:

To contribute towards the achievement of the EDYN vision by recruiting more volunteers and thereby to support the growth of the network

Main tasks and responsibilities of the position:

  • Elaboration and implementation of communication (including social media) strategy for EDYN towards young people
  • Management of Content (Picture, Texts, Multimedia contents)
  • Develop and setting up the social media channels relevant for young people who may be interested in international voluntary service
  • Define and run simultaneous common actions with the members across the network with an impact beyond the network

Applicants should preferably have the following experience, qualification and skills:

  • Experience with development and implementation of communication strategy in not- profit and/or for profit organisation
  • Experience with on-line communication, specifically the development of social media channels and production of videos with and for young people
  • Web affinition for actual on-line trends and marketing developments, as well as for target grouporiented concepts
  • Ability to adjust the skills to the field of international voluntary service
  • Very good communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Degree in Media or in Communication

Applicants should be:

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively in an international team o In sympathy with and support for the aims of EDYN o Willing to participate in appropriate agreed international meetings
  • Free-lance worker, dedicated to this post for 1 year, with the possibility of an extension to a 2nd year depending on the results

Contract details:

This post is honorarium based with 20 working hours in a month. The hourly rate is to be negotiated.
